Green Accounting and Intellectual Capital Efficiency as Drivers of Firm Value: Evidence from the Indonesian Mining Sector

Sharleen Ethelind, Herlin Tundjung Setijaningsih

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding the effect of green accounting and intellectual capital efficiency on firm value in mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the post-pandemic period of 2021–2024. Using purpose sampling, consisting of 10 companies with a total of 40 observations and the data were analyzed using panel data regression with the Random Effect Models (REM) through STATA version 15. The findings indicate that green accounting has a significant negative effect on firm value. Meanwhile, human capital efficiency has a significant positive effect on firm value after controlling for control variables. In contrast, structural capital efficiency, relational capital efficiency, and capital employed efficiency do not have significant effects on firm value. Results indicate that management should communicate green accounting as a strategic investment. Investors should prioritize on human capital efficiency, while regulators need to standardize green accounting frameworks.
