The Influence of Organizational Commitment and Emotional Intelligence on Performance with Work Motivation as a Mediating Variable in the National Search and Rescue Agency Jayapura

Abstract


The primary objective of this study is to examine the impact of organizational commitment and emotional intelligence on performance, while considering job motivation as a mediating variable. The study specifically focuses on the Jayapura search and rescue office. Data collection approaches in this study involved the utilization of questionnaires, employing quantitative analysis methods. The sample size consisted of 81 respondents, and the research hypothesis was tested using SPSS 26 and the Sobel test, as indicated by prior research and relevant literature. The findings of the study indicate several significant relationships. Firstly, there is a positive and significant impact of commitment to performance. Secondly, organizational commitment has a significant positive effect on work motivation. Thirdly, emotional intelligence has a positive and significant influence on performance. Fourthly, emotional intelligence also has a positive and significant impact on work motivation. Additionally, work motivation has a positive and significant effect on performance. Furthermore, work motivation can serve as a mediator between commitment and performance. Lastly, work motivation can also mediate the relationship between emotional intelligence and performance.
