The Impact of Performance Benefits and Human Resource Development on Productivity as Mediated by Jayapura City Inspectorate Employees’ Work Motivation

Abstract


The purpose of this research is to ascertain and evaluate the impact of HR development and performance allowances on productivity as it is mediated by the work motivation of Jayapura City Inspectorate employees. It also seeks to ascertain and evaluate the impact of work motivation on these employees’ productivity as well as the impact of HR development and performance allowances on productivity as it is mediated by the work motivation of Jayapura City Inspectorate employees. The findings of the study indicate that while performance allowances have a positive and significant impact on productivity, HR development has a negative and large impact on it. Productivity is positively and significantly impacted by motivation. Workplace motivation is positively and significantly impacted by human resource development, but not positively and significantly by performance allowances. The Sobel test’s results indicate that while work motivation can mitigate the impact of HR development on productivity, it is unable to mitigate the impact of performance allowances on the output of Jayapura City Inspectorate employees.
